Roadworks are set to cause the temporary closures of some streets in the Enfield area later this month.

Notices from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent outline the works that will cause the closures of streets including Westminster Road and Gordon Road and associated restrictions that may lead to disruption.

Westminster Road, from its junction with Bounces Road to the common boundary with Nos. 65 and 67, is set to be closed to motorists for approximately five days from May 17 as and when directed by signs.

Gordon Road will be closed for the same period, and waiting and loading restrictions will also be imposed, at its junction with Bounces Road to the common boundary of Nos. 72 and 74 on the east and west side.

Bounces Road will remain open, but waiting and loading restrictions will be implemented at the same time between the common boundaries of Nos. 51 and 53, Nos. 63 and 64, Nos. 70 and 72 and Nos. 60 and 62. The bus stop in the road will also be suspended.

Road resurfacing works mean Victoria Road, from its junction with Park Road, is also due to be temporarily closed from May 17.

This work is expected to last for five days but the closure, as and when directed by signs, will only apply from 8am to 6pm.

Also for five days from May 17, a section of Browning Road is due to be shut for utility works.

The road will be closed from the north-western flank wall of No. 62 and its junction with Glenville Avenue.

Meanwhile, a 20mph speed limit it set to be introduced in Meridian Way while works are carried out.

The restriction will apply in both directions between the junctions with Conduit Lane and Glover Drive.

The limit is due to take effect from next Wednesday and will last for approximately 13 weeks.
