He has an extensive career in baking, previously working in tea rooms and running his own business called The Cupcakery.

Reflecting about starting a business in the pandemic, Lee said: “We were initially nervous about starting a business in the pandemic.

“It really was risky thinking about it- but we are confident that we have chosen the right location and that we are selling the right products.

He added that we are “slowly coming out of lockdown” now and is confident the business will continue to flourish when the country returns to some semblance of ‘normality’.

Lee continues: “Plus- people are still at home and looking for something to cheer them up.

“And cake cheers everyone up, right?”

Lee hopes that the bakery can be more than just a business and hopes they can be an integral part of the local area.

He explained: “We really want to be part of the community and this business truly is for the people who live here."

What cakes are on offer?

Lee said there are a variety of cakes on offer at The Muffin Man.

He explained: “We have the most popular ones which we keep out all the time- but every day I like to bake something a little different and see how well it goes with the customers.”

Cupcakes, doughnuts, brownies and waffles are some of the mouth-watering treats on the menu.
