Tottenham Hotspur's partnership with North Middlesex University Hospital during the pandemic has been shortlisted for the NHS Communications Initiative of the Year Award.

The football club have been recognised for the work it has done to support patients and the community during the most unprecedented of times.

Tottenham stadium has hosted more than 41,000 appointments of North Middlesex’s Women’s Outpatient Services while areas sich as the media cafe, away dressing rooms, and interview rooms were transformed to enable pregnant women to have a safe space away from the main hospital for consultations and scans.

Drive-through Covid testing was also accessible in the stadium’s basement car park and continues until present, with appointments available to book.

The partnership between the club and hospital has led to a nomination for the HSJ awards which takes place virtually on Wednesday.

It is the 40th anniversary of the awards with celebrities such as Claire Balding, Alan Titchmarsh, Konnie Huq and Dr Ranj Singh – to name just a few - recording messages of thanks and support for all of the hard work, resilience and dedication of NHS staff over the last year.

The awards will be hosted by journalist and broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire and comedian Lenny Henry.
