New charges are being introduced at multi-storey car park in Enfield from tomorrow.

A notice in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent states the parking management system is being introduced at Palace Gardens multi-storey car park and will come into operation on Thursday.

The car park will be open from 7am to 7.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 7am to 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Sundays. Vehicles are limited to a maximum stay of seven hours on all days.

The charges will apply from 7.30am to 6.30pm from Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

Between 7.30am and 6.30pm from Monday to Saturday, parking will cost £1.40 up to one hour, £2.80 for one to three hours, £5 for three to five hours and £8 for more than five hours.

On Sundays between 10am and 5pm, the first three hours will be free of charge. Thereafter it will cost £5 for three to five hours and £8 for more than five hours.

A number of new traffic restrictions will also be coming into force in the borough.

These include vehicles, except buses and bicycles, travelling in Carterhatch Lane will be forbidden from turning right into the gap in the central reservation opposite Willow Road from Monday.

Cars and lorries travelling in a north-eastern direction will also be banned from entering the gap in the central reservation in Carterhatch Lane opposite Willow Road.

Traffic will be prevented from using a section of Laburnum Avenue from January 28 or 29 to February 15 or 16 to allow for crane works, while utility works will also affect traffic using Bullsmoor Way from Monday for at least 12 days.

A diversion will be in place in Chelmsford Road N14, at its junction with Linden Way and Chase Road N14, from Monday for at least ten days due to roadworks.

Waste services works will prevent traffic from waiting and loading in a section of Kennedy Avenue EN3 from Friday. This will last for at least four weeks and will be in place from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Works in a small area of Bowles Green EN1 mean vehicles will be unable to wait and load from February 1 for a minimum of three days.

Utility works will also start on this date in Station Road N21, meaning waiting and loading will be prevented on a section of this street for at least five days.
