A BIRCH tree in Brampton is for the chop, because it’s damaging the roadside.
Carlisle City Council granted permission for its removal on Monday, after firm R & M Lowther requested permission for the tree, in Tree Road, to be felled.
In a letter to the council, it said the tree was damaging the roadside and a wall, and its roots were also “close to BT services”.
