Police are investigating an incident where a motorist was robbed of his Mercedes by a group of thieves who allegedly claimed to have knives.

Met Police says it was called to reports of a robbery in Broomfield Avenue, Palmers Green, on Saturday, July 18 at 6.15pm.

When officers arrived, they were told a man in his 20s had been sitting in his parked Mercedes when he was approached by four males in a black coloured Audi, who pulled him from his car.

The suspects threatened the victim, intimating that they had knives, and left the scene with the victim’s car and the Audi, police said.

The victim did not sustain serious injuries.

The Audi was found abandoned in a nearby street and was seized for forensic examination. It has since been found to have been stolen from an address in Hertfordshire.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday, July 19 on suspicion of robbery. He was taken to a north London police station and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Neil MacLeod, investigating, said: “We are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend all of the suspects, but we need your help. I urge anyone with information to help us identify these men without delay.

“At this point nobody has sustained serious injuries.

“We are aware of footage circulating on social media relating to this incident. I am very keen to hear from anyone who has information that could identify those involved.

“If you know something, please just make the call, anonymously if necessary, and help us take these dangerous individuals off your streets.”
