Windermere is in the top ten destinations searched for on a hotel booking website.
Hotels.com revealed the most searched for destinations, nine of which were UK destinations, with more people eager to have a staycation this year.
With the uncertainty over international travel and changing quarantine rules, the staycation is proving to be the holiday trend this summer.
Adventurous Brits were keen to roam the rolling hills and expansive waters around Windermere, which was the seventh most popular location.
The nation’s holidaymakers were also keen to explore historic cities such as Edinburgh and York, both featuring in the most sought-after searches.
Seaside towns also saw a boost with Blackpool ranking third in the list.
Amsterdam was the only foreign location in the list placing tenth.
