THE Mayor of Oswestry was in contact with some of the town’s residents last week with the help of modern-day technology.
Councillor Duncan Kerr, who was installed as mayor in May, held his first Zoom the Mayor event on Monday, July 6.
With many people still shielding and refraining from making face-to-face contact with others, the mayor is planning to meet residents virtually on a monthly basis to discuss any ideas or concerns.
Cllr Kerr was joined by two residents for the first of the events, and discussed matters including cycling infrastructure and arts.
The mayor felt the experience was valuable and is looking forward to the future meetings.
He said: "I found the session extremely valuable and a positive experience and I hope that residents Glynn and Hazel did as well.
“We were able to discuss the topics they raised and respond to specific questions asked.
“These are being held on the first Monday of each month, details of how to join this online meeting can be obtained by emailing sandratrevor@oswestry-tc.gov.uk .”
