A local theatre is holding online auditions for a reading of a new play.

Pump House Theatre in Watford is helping to develop and workshop new writing using an online approach. The first play in this series is Barricades! by Andrew Sharp, and the theatre is searching for a cast of six for a workshop read through day.

Visit https://pumphouse.info/barricades/ to download the application form. You will need to record a monologue of your choice up to one minute long, along with a paragraph detailing why you want to be involved. Applications must be received by Wednesday, June 10.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, June 17, between 2pm and 4.30pm, and Thursday, June 18, between 7am and 9.30am. The final workshop read through will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, July 15, from 10am to 6pm with breaks.

The auditions are open to everyone, both professional and amateur actors, with a preference for those living in Watford and the surrounding areas.

Active since 2013, playwright and librettist Andrew Sharpe has enjoyed fringe runs in Birmingham, London, St Albans and Watford. He was also ‘highly commended’ at the Stockwell Playhouse One Act Festival in 2019.

Barricades! will be directed by professional actor and director Jade Samuels, whose credits include BBC's Doctors and who won the Triforce Promotions Monologue Slam.
