A MAN who got his hand trapped in a pizza rolling machine in Runcorn had to be rescued by firefighters.

At around 4pm yesterday, Saturday, firefighters from Stockton Heath attended a report of an entrapment at a commercial premises on Regent Street.

On arrival, the crew found that a man had trapped his hand in a pizza dough rolling machine.

Firefighters used Milwaukee saw to release the casualty and he was passed to the care of paramedics at the scene.

The crew were on scene for approximately 40 minutes.

Shortly before 3am this morning, Sunday firefighters were called to reports of a garden fire on Humphreys Close in Runcorn.

One fire engine from Runcorn was deployed to the scene and on arrival they found the fire involved a garden fence which was well alight and had stared to spread to a nearby shed.

The crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire before removing the affected fence panels.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and the crew were detained at the scene for around 90 minutes.
