Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a woman died in a flat.
A crime scene is in place at an address in Pennine House, Plevna Road, Edmonton.
Police were called to the flat just after 6pm yesterday (Monday) after concerns were raised about the welfare of a person.
When police arrived, a woman was found unresponsive with serious injuries.
The London Ambulance Service also attended but the woman, who is 57-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin has been informed and a post examination will take place in due course.
Police believe the woman's attacker is known to her.
A 65-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in police custody at a north London police station.
Police enquiries into the woman's death are ongoing.
