The majority of libraries in Enfield and Haringey have been closed due to the outbreak of coronavirus Covid-19.
On Monday (March 23), Haringey Council announced the closure of eight of the borough’s libraries until further notice, with only Wood Green Library remaining open.
In Enfield, 13 community libraries have been closed. Only the four main hub libraries - Edmonton Green, Enfield Town, Palmers Green and Ordnance Unity Centre - will remain open.
Enfield Council says these hub libraries will continue to provide access to online services around job seeking and information for those applying for benefits such as Universal Credit.
There will also be “strict social distancing measures” in place and “regular and comprehensive cleaning programmes” to protect visitors and staff.
People will not be able to access the libraries for social or recreational use.
