Two men jailed for machete attack at Enfield Town Station

Ricardo Dulhumsingh of Beresford Gardens, Enfield, and Kamran Ahmed of Aberdare Road, Enfield, appeared and were sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Monday, January 27.

During the early hours of Sunday, August 4, 2019, the two 20-year-old men were loitering outside Enfield Town Station when they approached the victim and his friend.

The men then started an argument with the victim, this then swiftly escalated to serious violence.

Both suspects pulled out large machetes from the waistband of their tracksuit bottoms and chased the victim into the ticket hall.

Once there, they swung their sheathed weapons at the victim, causing a number of extremely serious cuts and wounds.

CCTV evidence then captures the suspects casually walking away from the scene, brandishing their weapons.

Thanks to the swift response of officers, both men were traced to a nearby Tesco where they were arrested.

At court, they admitted charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed article.

Dulhumsingh was handed a seven-year six-month prison sentence and Ahmed was handed an eight-year prison sentence.

DI Nia Mellor from British Transport Police, said: “This was a chilling and brutal attack, and frankly it is remarkable that the victim wasn’t killed.

“The way that Dulhumsingh and Ahmed so arrogantly walked away from the scene just demonstrates how little remorse they had for their victim, who was left bleeding severely.

“Thankfully, the pair are now behind bars and I know this will be welcome news for the victim who continues to relive the terrifying memories of this attack.

“I would like the praise the officers who helped bring these defendants to justice. Thanks to the overwhelming evidence they collected, both defendants had no choice but to plead guilty.”
