A Gants Hill bar was shut down last night amid police fears gangs from across London would be travelling to attend.
The Metropolitan Police enforced a closure notice on Infinity London in Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, opposite Gants Hill station.
Police warned would-be revellers not to travel to the area.
Redbridge MPS tweeted notice of the cancellation shortly after 5pm on January 29, the evening of the event.
The constabulary said: “We are aware of an event tonight at Infinity Bar in #Ilford. We have prevented this from taking place by issuing a closure notice, based on information received that gangs from across London were planning to attend. Do not travel to the area if you were planning on attending.”
The bar’s next event ‘Pretty Girls Love Hip-Hop’ is set to go forward on Saturday, February 1.
