A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot while another was stabbed following a violent fight between two groups of men.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Alma Road, Enfield shortly after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, January 29).

One man was found with gunshot injuries and another with stab wounds and were both taken to hospital.

The condition of the man with gunshot wounds has been described as life-threatening but stable and the knife victim’s condition has been deemed non life-threatening, police have said.

At this stage it is believed two groups of men, believed to be in their 20s, had been involved in an altercation.

No arrests have been made.

A Section 60 was in place for parts of Enfield until 4am this morning.

A police spokesperson said: "A Section 60 has been authorised following an incident in Alma Road, Enfield this evening.

"One man was found with gun-shot injuries and another had been stabbed. Both are in hospital and we await further updates on their conditions. The man who was shot is believed to be in a life-threatening condition.”
