A road which was shut all day after a body was found has been re-opened.

A police cordon had been in place since Friday evening in Hogg Lane near Elstree Aerodrome after Hertfordshire Constabulary were called when a body was discovered.

A man had been found dead and he had been stabbed.

A crime scene was in place, with cones having blocked the entrance to Hogg Lane, off Dagger Lane, Elstree.

But the cordon has been removed and people are now able to access Hogg Lane.

Met Police are leading the investigation into the stabbing because they are linking it to a murder that happened around only five miles or so away earlier the night before.

The Met were already investigating a double stabbing which happened on Thursday night.

A man aged in his 30s was found with stab wounds in a car in a car park at Scratchwood Park off the A1 Barnet Bypass.

Paramedics worked to save his life but he died at the scene.

Pictures then showed  a blue forensic tent erected in a car park at Scratchwood, while the A1 was closed for a period of time between Edgware and Borehamwood.

A second man, in his 20s was also found at Scratchwood suffering from stab wounds and he was taken to hospital.

The Met had initially been called to Courtland Avenue, on the other side of the A1, after reports of a fight, but no victims or suspects were traced.

Minutes later, the Met were called to Scratchwood Park by the London Ambulance Service.
