In July it was announced that hundreds of homes could be built at tube stations in Enfield to help ease the housing shortage. Plans drawn up by Transport for London could see 400 homes built at Cockfosters and 150 at Arnos Grove underground stations. The plans would mean the loss of the stations’ commuter car parks.

Kasim Lewis, 32, was jailed for life for the murders of two women. While serving a sentence for the murder of bar worker Iuliana Tudos, Lewis pleaded guilty to stabbing Catherine Burke after gaining entry to her home in Muswell Hill. Catherine Burke’s son called the murder “a wicked and senseless act”. Lewis will not be eligible for parole until he is 72-years-old.

Her formal response did not include the words “sorry” or “apologise”. Cllr Caliskan breached the council’s code of conduct over remarks made following a scrutiny committee in 2018.
