Schoolkids across the district have been holding fundraising events in honour of Children in Need today.
At The Ongar Academy on Fyfield Road, Ongar, students wore yellow accessories and received a surprise visit from Pudsey the Bear in between lessons.
A cake making competition was also held in honour of the fundraising day which was won by pupil Holly B.
Student Holly B won the Children in Need cake making competition.
This afternoon the secondary school tweeted that they had raised over £1,000 for Children in Need with the final total to be confirmed on Monday.
The annual charity event which launched back in 1980 is hoping to raise millions for vulnerable youngsters across the country.
Children in Need will air on BBC1 from 7:30pm tonight.
