An officer was injured after being run over when police stopped a vehicle.

Police arrested six people in White Hart Lane, Tottenham, on October 29 at around 11.30am when armed officers stopped a vehicle based on collected intelligence.

The vehicle stopped, but the driver quickly drove off and crashed into an officer.

The police officer was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service and his injuries are described as non-life threatening. He has now been discharged from hospital.

A man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

Four males, two aged 17, one aged 18 and one aged 19 have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A woman, 23, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They are all in custody at police stations in London.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, of Specialist Crime, said: “This was an extremely serious incident whereby the safety of the public, as well as the life of the police officer, was endangered.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen this disturbing event.”
