Armed police rushed to a main street yesterday afternoon after reports a man was threatened with guns and knives.

Video which circulated on social media showed officers detaining a number of men in Hertford Road, near the junction of Green Street.

The Met Police has confirmed six men were arrested at the scene but they have all since been released with no further action.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 1.13pm on Saturday, 26 October to Hertford Road, Enfield, after a 27-year-old man reported that he had been threatened with a gun and knives by a group of males.

"Officers attended, including specialist firearms colleagues. Six men were arrested on suspicion of affray after they were pointed out by the caller.

"After officers examined CCTV, all of those arrested were released with no further action.

"The caller is believed to have been suffering an episode of paranoia. He was taken home and left in the care of his family."
