A second man has been arrested following a fatal collision in Waltham Abbey over the weekend.

Essex Police were called at around 8am on Saturday, October 12 to reports a black Volkswagen Golf lost control and collided with a tree off Crooked Mile. The vehicle came to a stop in a ditch.

A man died of his injuries at the scene and another man was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.

Police believe two men who were travelling in the vehicle ran off.

A 21-year-old man from Wood Green, London, remains in custody on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, causing death by dangerous driving and failing to report a collision.
