Sumer celebrations at a care home will bring a variety of games and live music from the 1950s to the 70s.

Buchanan Court, Sudbury Hill, is welcoming residents and visitors to its ‘fun in the sun’ annual family summer fête on August 27, from 11am to 4pm.

Attendees will be able to close off their summer with a variety of games, an array of food, jewellery and other items, while listening to live music inspired by the residents’ favourite songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

The care home is operated by Care UK, a residential care provider for the elderly. For this event, Care UK will be partnering with the National Citizenship Service (NCS), a programme that brings 15 to 17-year-olds together to volunteer and help their community.

Ruth Halls, home manager at Buchanan Court, said: “Maintaining strong relationships with the community is a valuable part of life at Buchanan Court. Hosting this summer fête provides us with the amazing opportunity to welcome not only the people of Harrow, but also the National Citizenship Service too.

“It is set to be a wonderful event, and the residents and the team here at Buchanan Court are all looking forward to welcoming our Harrow neighbours for a day of family-friendly fun.”

Buchanan Court currently offers residents many hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hair and beauty salon, café, alongside its full-time residential nursing and specialist dementia care.
