Two dogs were kicked while out with their owners, with one being kicked in the face.

Officers investigating the two incidents in St Albans have released a photo of a man they would like to talk to.

The most recent incident happened just after 1pm on July 3 in Batchwood Drive when a dog was kicked in the face by a man who was jogging. The dog was with its walker at the time.

In another incident, a dog was kicked outside Morrisons in Hatfield Road at 10.41am on May 21. The dog was with a woman and her daughter.

The woman was apparently approached and lunged at by the same man sometime between 11am and 12am from April 12 to 26.

On that occasion, she did not have her dog with her.

PC Dawn Rust: “We are asking for the public’s help in trying to trace this man who was believed to be in the area at the time.

“Witnesses to both incidents were shocked by the man’s unprovoked behaviour."

Anyone who might know this man is asked to get in touch with police on 101. Please quote reference 41/59971/19
