A teenager was nearly robbed at gunpoint on a train travelling to Enfield.

The 19-year-old male victim was approached by another man on board a Greater Anglia service travelling from Liverpool Street to Brimsdown at around 11am on Friday (July 12).

The suspect demanded cash and the victim’s bank card before reaching into his bag and pulling out a silver revolver handgun.

It is not yet known whether this was a viable handgun or an imitation firearm.

As the train pulled into Brimsdown, the victim ran through the train to inform the driver and the man left the train at the station, walking through the underpass.

It is believed the suspect had boarded the train at Ponders End.

Police believe the man in the CCTV images could have information which could aid their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Dean Percival, said: “This is an incredibly concerning incident and we are doing everything we can to trace the individual involved and remove this potential weapon from the streets.”
