More children in Redbridge have been offered places at their first choice of primary school this year.

Data from across London, compiled by the London Admissions Board, shows 3,273 children got into their top choice of school this year compared to 3,255 in 2018

Just over 95 per cent of children received one of their parents’ top three choices and just over 97 per cent gained a place at one of their chosen primary schools.

All those not given a school of their preference have been offered alternative places in Redbridge schools.

Caroline Cutts, operational director for children and families, said: “In the face of higher demand, we’re delighted to be able to offer even more families their first preference school.

“Beginning school is an exciting time and we wish all children the very best when they start in September and for the coming years.”

All parents are encouraged to look at the options open to them as alternative places can become available if families change their mind or move home.

Parents are advised they must respond to the offer they have received by April 30, 2019.
