Parking will be suspended at Cassiobury Park while construction work is underway to expand the car park.

There will be a temporary closure of Cassiobury car park and alternative parking arrangements for visitors to the popular beauty spot.

Visitors are being reminded to use alternative parking facilities up until May 4, especially during the Easter School Holiday period, ahead of the works completing.

To support the growing number of visitors to the park – which is visited by two million per year - the project is providing: increased capacity from 88 to 214 permanent spaces, more blue badge spaces from 6 to 12 and new digital screens to highlight the number of available spaces.

Parking charges will also start to apply once the car park is open.

The first two hours will be free; however drivers will pay £2 to park for two to three hours, £3 for three to four hours, £4, for four to five hours, and £5 for five to six hours. People will not be able to park for any longer than six hours, which is the current restriction too.

Whilst the overflow car park will stay open up until 22 April, the council have arranged alternative car parking at Watford Boys Grammar School and Fullerians Rugby Football Club with specific dates from April 8 to April 22.
