The most built on boroughs in London have been revealed amidst a rise in the number of people improving rather than moving.
With house prices slumping across the capital and the shadow of Brexit casting unpredictability into the market, more and more people are opting to stay in their current home rather than upgrade.
Since 2013 the number of homeowners opting to stay put and renovate in London has increased from three per cent to 15 per cent, according to a poll of 1,200 people conducted by Hiscox.
While not all of the planning application relate to homes, a study by sellhoustfast.co.uk aims to highlight the London boroughs were most of this building is happening.
At the top of the pile is Croydon, with 3,865 live or completed planning applications since 2006.
Westminster, Wandsworth and then Ealing followed, with Barnet top of the north London boroughs with 3,078 applications in fifth.
Middle of the road entries included Waltham Forest with 2.060 and Enfield with 2,050.
Skulking around at the bottom were Harrow with 1,670 and Redbridge with 1,456, not quite managing to keep the City of London and its 411 planning applications off the bottom.
