A school took to the stage at the O2 Arena to participate in the world’s largest children’s choir.
Pupils in Years Five and Six at Theydon Bois Primary School, in Orchard Drive, joined 8,000 other child singers to make up this year’s annual Young Voices concert on Monday.
Performances included renditions of popular songs from 2018 and melodies from films The Greatest Showman and Moana.
Class teacher and head of the choir, Louise Eldridge, praised the children’s efforts for getting through the long day.
She said: “They were absolutely buzzing, they are complete credit to us,
“We began rehearsals at 2.15pm, then the concert started at 7pm and didn’t finish until about 9.15pm.”
Set up 23 years ago, Young Voices encourages youngsters around the country to sing and dance in front of friends and families on country’s biggest stages.
Singing alongside the children this year includes Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, Britain’s Got Talent competitor Beau Dermott and Basement Jaxx’s lead vocalist Sharlene Hector.
Ms Elridge said it was one of the school’s highlights throughout the year.
"It’s a pleasure to see the children enjoying themselves,” she said.
“A lot them said this is the best day at school. They kept up the enthusiasm all night and danced their socks off. It was lovely.”
