The snowy weather has been postponed– for around 48 hours.

A yellow weather warning for snow in our region has been in place over the last few days, however any snow which does fall overnight (Tuesday) is unlikely to settle.

We could still wake up with a covering but it will be no more than around 2cm in most areas.

Instead, rain is more likely to fall into the evening, making the ground wet, so any snow which does come down during the night is unlikely to stick, although there is every chance in towns and villages at a higher level.

The snow is also unlikely to be heavy enough to settle in more built up areas.

Ice could prove to be a danger in the morning.

However, there is a much greater chance of snow now on Thursday night/late afternoon, and the current predictions are we could be in for a heavier fall than was predicted tonight.
