A man was left with a fractured jaw after an argument turned violent on New Year’s Day.

It happened in Scots Hill, near Rickmansworth School, at 2am back on January 1.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was with his friend, also in his 20s, when they became involved in a dispute with a group of people.

The pair were then attacked.

They were punched in the face, leaving one of them with three fractures to his jaw which required surgery. He is still recovering.

Fortunately, his friend was left with no lasting injuries.

Detective Constable Paul Burton, from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, said: “I know that some considerable time has passed since the incident however, we have been conducting extensive enquiries and have reason to believe that there are a number of people in the community who have vital information about what happened.

“With it being the early hours of New Years’ Day, we believe there were a number of people around at the time and we would be very keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the assault.

“This was a nasty attack that left the victim requiring extensive hospital treatment, and he is still recovering from his injuries to date.

“I would urge anyone who has information about what happened to contact me straight away."
