Remember the hazy days of the 90s, when it was cool to be in a band, walk with a swagger and the music was loud and proud?

Such memories will come flooding back on Saturday when the Black Barn stages a special night of Britpop for its opening monthly gig of 2019.

The Britpop Boys have performed the length and breadth of the UK playing anthem after anthem as well as some much-loved forgotten gems.

Britpop Boys drummer Oscar Stone says: “Our love of BritPop comes from the music that most of us grew up listening to, which has shaped the future for so many bands that we hear played now.

“Expect to hear tributes to the likes of Oasis, Pulp, Blur, Shed 7, The Stone Roses, Supergrass and many other Britpop icons including the hidden gems of the 90s BritPop movement.

“This show is not to be missed and we will show you why we are considered the best at what we do.”

Music from the Black Barn, staged at Forty Hall Farm, has become one of the most atmospheric, intimate and popular live music venues anywhere in the borough, with a different genre every second Saturday of the month.

As ever, two acts are being showcased with support on Saturday coming from The Kennedys Are Coming, a four-piece London indie-rock band whose debut EP, Start Packing, was released in September 2018, with airtime on BBC Radio 6.
