One of the world’s funniest comedians has raised £140,000 for health and social care charity Jewish Care.
Michael McIntyre had the audience in stitches when he performed at an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Jewish Care’s Redbridge sports and entertainment committee.
Over the past decade the committee along with the Redbridge Aid Golf Society (RAGS) committee have raised over £1.8 million to support Jewish Care’s services in Redbridge and Essex.
Andrew Klein chairman of the sports and entertainment committee said: “We are so grateful to Michael McIntyre for agreeing to give up his time to entertain us in a hall just slightly smaller than Wembley.
“It was an amazing evening and we couldn’t have asked for a better performer.
“The room was filled with laughter from the moment he started until the very end.
“A huge thanks to Daren Burney for not only sponsoring the event but asking Michael to support us.”
