Gritters will be out on the streets of Hertfordshire for the first time since last winter tonight.
As road surface temperatures are expected to fall below zero, 'primary routes' will be given their first dusting of salt.
Primary routes include A and B roads, routes to hospitals, GP surgeries and urgent care centres, as well as designated emergency service routes, and also railway stations, airports and transport interchanges.
An update on Hertfordshire County Council's website reads: "Primary Routes, 15g at 21/11/2018 19:00:00
"Very cold night with Ice and Frost risk and RSTs below zero."
