A man who died in a double stabbing has been named by police.

Moses Mayele, 23, of Ilford was pronounced dead at the scene of the attack in Manford Way, Hainault, at around 10.30pm on Friday, October 12.

The second victim, a 22-year-old man, was rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition

No one has been arrested and officers are continuing their enquiries.

An incident room has opened under the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes, who is leading the investigation, said: “The events that took place that evening has left one young man dead, and another seriously ill in hospital.

“It is important to remember that the aftermath of this has left yet another family grieving the loss of their young son.

“There will be people out there who have information on the events that led up to this murder, and I am appealing to them to come forward and talk to us.

“I understand that there may be a reluctance to speak to the police, and I would like to offer reassurance that any information shared will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Alternatively, you can speak anonymously with Crimestoppers.”
