Closure of a post office has left many customers worrying about collecting their pensions.
The post office in Lancaster Road, Chase Side, is temporarily closed leaving only the nearest post office a 20 minute walk away in Enfield Town.
Many elderly people in the borough rely on their nearest post office to collect their pensions.
Customers were not notified and did not know about if the post office was going to reopen.
People had already started to worry whether it will come back and for how long it will be gone.
No reason has yet been given as to why the post office had to be closed.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Lancaster Road Post Office.
“We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services and would like to reassure customers that the decision to suspend services at any of our branches is never taken lightly.
“We take very seriously any decision to temporarily close a branch, and will only do so when it is warranted.
“We are working hard to restore services for the community as quickly as possible.
“In the meantime customers can access Post Office services from any other convenient branch including Enfield, Cambridge Road and Enfield Highway.”
