Residents have until Friday to respond to a consultation on changes to parking rules on event days at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium.

The changes could be introduced to stop people from outside the area leaving their cars in spaces set aside for disabled residents.

Homes for Haringey, which manages the borough’s council housing, is proposing suspending the blue badge scheme on match days at estates close to the stadium.

Instead, residents would be given a specific permit enabling them to park on event days, stopping blue badge holders from outside the area using their disabled bays.

Homes for Haringey also wants to suspend the visitor scratch card scheme on event days for one hour before an event.

This is because a small number of residents sell visitor scratch cards to people attending the stadium.

The proposed changes come in response to concerns raised by local residents’ groups and will only be implemented if the majority of respondents are in favour.

Construction delays mean the football club is not due to move into the 62,000-seat stadium, on High Road, until at least October.
