An environmental initiative has received recognition.
Cycle Enfield, a council-run project, won the sustainable mobility award on July 12 due to the Green Lanes Project at the Sustainable City Awards.
Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Energy, Shirley Rodrigues, presented Enfield Council with the award, judged by a panel from the British Heart Foundation, the Environment Agency and the City of London Corporation.
Enfield Council’s deputy leader, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said that the council’s “pioneering efforts” to transform travel in Enfield.
He said: "There is still much to do, but we are now beginning to see our ambitious strategy come to fruition.
“The changes we are making today will enable our community to make healthier transport choices tomorrow.”
