Teenage girls are visiting their old nursery to commemorate its tenth anniversary.

Students from Palmers Green High School in Enfield celebrated the tenth anniversary of its pre-school nursery being at Wellington Road.

The girls, who are now in Years 8 and 9, joined the nursery when they were three and four years old.

The nursery first opened under the name of The Alice Nursery to commemorate the school’s founder Alice Hum.

It has since changed its name to Palmers Green High School Nursery.

Year 9 pupil Grace Sinfield said: “I was lucky enough to be at The Alice Nursery when it moved to Wellington Road.

“Walking into the new premises was so exciting full of colour, light and space which my friends I grew to love.

“Ten years later, I am now in year nine and beginning the preparations for my GCSEs.

“While the years seem to have flown by, I am proud to say I still share my days at the school with my friends who I started out with at Alice Nursery.”

Parent Paul Miller said: "Palmers Green High School builds independent young women to be the leaders of tomorrow with an amazing work ethic.

“Our daughter started at the nursery ten years ago and we are delighted that she has now been appointed head girl."

Palmers Green High School has been educating girls since 1905 and from September it will be the only independent all-girls school in the area.

Girls can join the nursery once they reach three years of age.
