Images of men the police wish to trace have been released after a man was murdered in Mill Hill.

Metropolitan Police were called at around 11.45pm on January 6 to The Broadway, Mill Hill, to reports a man had been assaulted.

Vijay Patel, 49, from Colindale, who was working at Rota Express on the night of the incident, was taken to hospital for treatment but died on January 8.

A post-mortem is scheduled to tkae place at Northwick Park Hospital mortuary on January 11.

Detective Inspector Ian Lott of the Homicide and Major Crime Command leads the investigation and said: "This was an unprovoked and wholly unnecessary attack on a man who was just trying to do his job.

"It is vitally important that these two males are traced as they undoubtedly have information that could assist our investigation."

Another shopworker, also in the store at the time, suffered minor injuries from the assault but did not require hospital treatment.
