A cancer charity will soon be able to offer more help to people.

The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre is getting ready to move into its own building.

The building will have a welcome area, two therapy rooms, two counselling rooms and a function room where classes are run.

Currently, The Nightingale is sharing a building with four other charities.

This limits the services it can offer.

Dr Pat Mahony, vice chairman, said: “We wanted to provide a safe environment for the people of Enfield, a place that welcomes anyone with cancer, their families and friends.

“Presently, The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre helps on average 600 people per year and, over the next three years, the aim is to double the amount of support we offer.”

The charity has been up and running for fifteen years, and depends on community support to continue.
