An opticians has donated 60 high visibility jackets to pupils to help promote road safety.

Specsavers in Palmers Green donated the jackets to Oakthorpe Primary School, in Tile Kiln Lane.

The opticians across the borough have been promoting safe road use and good visibility at schools during the winter months.

Jaswinder Singh Nagra, store director at Specsavers in Palmers Green, says: ‘Now that the nights are drawing in, we want to make sure that our young people are travelling to and from school and after-school clubs in safety.

‘A simple high visibility vest increases the likelihood of them being spotted by motorists and cyclists in poor lighting conditions. The pupils of Oakthorpe Primary are wonderful ambassadors of this campaign and are already sporting their vests with pride.’

‘Why not pop into store and get your little ones kitted out for winter.’
