Warnings have been made to residents after a distraction burglary over the bank holiday weekend.
A man in his 40s knocked on the door of the home in Bullsmoor Way, Waltham Cross, on the border of Enfield, claiming there was a problem with the water supply.
He told the home owner that he was checking the taps.
Whilst he distracted the victim, a second man entered the home before stealing some money,
The first man is described as white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair. He was wearing dark clothes and carrying a clipboard.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the suspect, or who was approached by a man claiming to be dealing with a burst water pipe in the area.
