Having contacted the contractor regarding faulty street lights, I asked why the levels were no better than the old SON lamps, to be told that Enfield Borough Council had instructed that the power to street lamps be cut by 50 per cent.
The much trumpeted PFI replacements have been a waste of money as the standard is no better than before.
General and personal safety is at risk, yet the brilliant floodlights in Bramley Road sports ground are regularly alight for some hours after players have departed. No expense spared there and perhaps elsewhere.
Disgraceful, Enfield Council.
