Children who made films showing how adventurous they can be when playing outdoors picked up an award.
Houndsfield Primary School, in Enfield, was named the top school in London for adventure play at the London Adventure Play Awards.
Pupils joined children from other schools which have adventure playgrounds at the Phoenix Cinema, in East Finchley, to see their film on the big screen and find out who had won prizes.
Set to Pharrell Williams' song Happy, the Houndsfield film showed why children love playing in the school. It showed them getting their hands dirty in the garden, using recycling materials for elaborate role playing games, digging, climbing, creating and squirting water.
Their prize was £500 worth of outdoor play equipment from Argos.
Teacher Sundeep Kaur and learning support assistant Tracie Hanberger led the school's entry. Sundeep added: “We were delighted to represent Houndsfield whilst receiving this award. The children are always very keen to explore their natural surroundings and question aspects of their familiar world.”
