An department store celebrated opening its doors again following a major refurbishment.
Pearsons, which has upgraded and moved its escalators and opened a new Italian-style cafe, welcomed customers through the doors with a ten per cent discount card.
Staff handed out lollipops and balloons to customers, and a steel pan band played outside the front entrance to welcome people in.
Duty manager Clarissa Hyman said the shop needed upgrade work to bring it into this century.
She said: “Our revamp brings the store into modern times and also caters for the demands of our customers.”
