An Enfield pharmacy has reached a gold standard for its customer service.

Only three per cent of the UK’s 17,000 businesses receive a gold award from Investors in People - Reid’s Pharmacy in Bury Street West, Winchmore Hill has now achieved this accolade.

The independent business has been in the high street for 25 years and owner Terry Reid is delighted with the achievement.

He said: “After owning this business for 25 years, it could have been a chance to sit back and take it easy.  But I’ve actually been remotivated.  We had a refit two years ago and I have been investing more in training and developing the team.

“This gold award is recognition of the ethos we have in the business and the service that we provide to the local community.

“Obviously in a pharmacy our staff need to have technical training in order to dispense prescriptions, but sometimes the softer skills can be lower priority.

“I believe our investment in this area really sets us apart from our competitors so it makes good business sense.”
