Park groups in Enfield have been honoured for their work surveying wildlife around the borough.
The nine groups, who help run and maintain Enfield's parks, were thanked at an environment volunteers committee at City Hall in London.
The groups took part in a survey on biodiversity to update the mayoral biodiversity strategy, which had not been updated for more than a decade.
The strategy was created to protect natural open spaces in the capital.
Councillor Chris Bond, cabinet member for environment said: “We work hard with all our parks groups to keep our parks in tip-top condition.
“They play an important role in making Enfield one of the greenest boroughs in London, and I’m delighted their contribution has been recognised by the London Assembly.”
Eight of Enfield’s parks have been formally recognised as being among some of the best in the country by achieving Green Flag status.”
The nine groups are:
- Friends of Broomfield Park
- Friends of Bury Lodge Park
- Friends of Bush Hill Park
- Friends of Enfield Playing Fields
- Friends of Forty Hall Park
- Friends of Grovelands Park
- Friends of Hilly Fields
- New Southgate Millennium Green
- The Enfield Society
