A man accused of murdering his wife in Enfield has appeared in court this morning.
Minta Addido, 38, of Morris Court in Rigby Place, has denied murdering 31-year-old Akua Aygeman on November 6, 2012.
At the Old Bailey this morning, the jury was sworn in and an introduction and overview was given by prosecutor Christopher Hehir.
The court heard Mr Addido has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but not guilty to murdering his wife, who he stabbed 15 times in the early hours of November 6, in Gunner Drive in Enfield Island Village.
She subsequently died on January 2 this from organ failure.
Mr Hehir told the jury: “His [Mr Addido’s] reasons for doing that [the attack] had nothing to do with money, but rather with what he believe to be his wife’s infidelity.”
The trial continues.
