Toddlers and young children have a new place to play after a park opened a new play area.
Trent Park in Cockfosters, Enfield, has opened the playground for children aged two to eight behind its Woodland Cafe.
Designed to blend in with its leafy surroundings, the play area cost £37,000 granted by Enfield’s Residents’ Priority Fund.
The chairman of the Friends of Trent Park, Tony Halle, believes the new equipment is fantastic, and caters perfectly for the age bracket.
He added: “Trent Park has lots of wonderful things for children and families to do, and this children’s playground will be a good addition to the park for the really young ones.
“The area is specially designed to fit in with the natural surroundings, is dog free, and has some very interesting equipment. We would love families to come and see it for themselves.”
Councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for leisure, culture youth and localism, said: “This is an idyllic area for young children and their families. Although safe with a specially prepared spongy and wood bark ground covering, it is also challenging with intricate climbing frames and swings.
“This thoughtfully planned playground has good parking and the established café nearby. It is a welcome addition to the park’s excellent facilities and will give great pleasure to many children and families.”
