Enfield based singer-songwriter Nadia Rae is celebrating Mother’s Day a little differently this year.
This week she is releasing a new track and accompanying music video called Mama, which captures her appreciation for everything her mother has done for her over the years.
She has also started a campaign called #mymamaknows to find out how other people across London appreciate their parents.
She travelled across the capital and filmed people of all ages, who wrote a message to their mother that could be shared publicly in her video.
Nadia, who was a contestant on the BBC’s Sinatra: Our Way in 2015 and has previously been a finalist in the national Open Mic UK competition, explains the inspiration behind her new campaign.
She says: “The world is so negative at the moment and so I wanted to do something positive that brought people together and spread some much-needed love.
“The people filmed were from all over London and the sincerity of their messages were so touching.
“However, the campaign doesn’t stop there. I want as many people to share their messages of thanks to their mums across social media – something so simple that means so much.”
